АУКЦИОН 45: АНТИКВАРНОЕ ОРУЖИЕ И НАГРАДЫ
Лот 183:
This 18th-century hunting dagger is engraved with both floral scrollwork and animal depictions, those being a stag on one side of the blade and a boar on the other, both of them running. The shape of the dagger is usual for the cuttoe style, with a tapered hilt that has a slight forward curve as well as two quillons, one curved upward and the other downward. The quillons are of lightly decorated brass and the handle is of bone with pastel green stripes painted into the slightly angled horizontal grooves that have been carved into the handle. The pommel is also of bone and is carved with a star-burst pattern and capped with a small brass knob.
L: 22 in. (55.88 cm.);
Condition: Overall condition is good. The blade shows a few pitted spots. The grip has several small cracks.
