The banner is of cloth with embroidered edges and a stylized painted depiction of the coat of arms of Austria-Hungary supported by two griffins and surmounted by a crest consisting of a helmet topped with a crown. The piece is suspended from a wooden rod.

Condition: Colors clear and vibrant. Minor paint loss. Some fading and minor loss to embroidery. Some creasing. Some staining throughout.
