AUCTION 45: ANTIQUE ARMS AND ARMOR
Lot 99:
It is unusually large in comparison to the rest of the similar shield we would offer in the past. Of a round convex form with four domes and a hammered lion head at the center this shield is richly decorated with silver inlay Arabic inscriptions. The engraving and silver inlay are very elaborate and form a nice ensemble.
It is a beautiful and quite rare ceremonial Dhal shield.
