FROM ANTIQUITY TO THE 20TH CENTURY
Lot 18:
A highly decorated glass bottle with from the medieval Islamic world, with gold leaf applied decoration across the surface in various patterns and what appears to be lettering in Arabic script. The bottle has a rounded base with a longer slender neck and a short flared section about an inch and a half below the flared rim.
Islamic World – CA. 14th Century AD
H: 6 in., (15.2 cm.)
Condition: Bottle itself is in very good condition with no evidence of breakage. Gold leaf is worn across much of the surface, with some loss throughout.
