Lot 197:
A mid-19th century Austrian gilt-bronze-footed trinket box or casket with a hinged lid. The sides of the box are set with hand-painted enamel panels. The plaques depict Rococo galant scenes in landscape background. A wind-up clock is mounted in the upper right corner of the lid, white dial with Roman numerals and gilt accents. The bronze parts are richly decorated with ornamental reliefs. The interior of the box is lined with velvet. The inner side of the lid is also garnished with an enamel painting which represents a seascape with a sailing ship.

Condition: Very good overall. Some oxidation on bronze. Two legs slightly loose. Outer Enamel slightly marked. Clock backplate loose. Key no longer extant
