Lot 42:
An interesting marble bust of a robed woman with a removeable head. The woman wears her hair parted in the middle and pulled back into a large bun tied at the back of her head, the head as a whole having somewhat worn features due to erosion. The base of the neck is shaped such that it fits into the top of the chest piece of the bust.
Ancient Hellenistic World – CA. 100 BC – 100 AD
H: 7 1/4 in., (18.4 cm.)
Condition: Good overall. Some sediment buildup, primarily on the rear of the piece. Some surface erosion throughout.
