The Toledo-made legged iron plate decorated with gold and silver inlay depicts the Burial of the Count of Orgaz (Spanish: El Entierro del Conde de Orgaz) based on the original painting by El Greco made in 1586. It illustrates a popular local legend of his time.
The subject has been lauded by art scholars, characterized, inter alia, as "one of the most truthful pages in the history of Spain".
The plate is in its original pristine condition.
