FROM ANTIQUITY TO THE 20TH CENTURY
Лот 51:
A large brass library telescope with a tripod of three folding metal legs. The telescope consists of 3 sections. The first and largest is the main body of the telescope, the second is a smaller cylinder that can be extended or retracted using a knob on the right-hand side, and the last is a thinner tube that can be pushed or pulled by hand and bears a small lens cover which can be swiveled open or closed. The telescope is mounted to the tripod via a swiveling joint. There are no visible markings on this example.
Europe or America, 19th Century
Extended Length: 52 1/2 in., (133.4 cm.); H: 20 in., ( 50.8 cm.)
Condition: External components good overall with some dents and general wear in places on surface. We could not test the clarity at range, but it does still let light through. All mechanisms seem to function well.
