A large vase from Qajar period Persia, brilliantly decorated across every inch of its surface variously with geometric patterns, floral imagery, and birds nestled amongst the flowers. This decoration is colored with many differently colored glazes, with blue being the most widespread, but pink, green, black, and white being found regularly throughout. The vase bears a lid, likewise decorated, which fits over the neck of the vase like a socket.
Qajar, Persia — 19th century.
H: 13 1/2 in., (34 cm.)
Condition: The vase is in fine condition. The lid shows signs of past breakage and subsequent repair.
