Vasudeo S Gaitonde’s abstract mixed-media painting. Signed and dated (87) in the lower right corner.
Provenance: The Parsi Family Collection, Mumbai (Maharashtra).
Footnote: Vasudeo S Gaitonde (1924-2001) was regarded as India’s foremost abstract artist. He received the Padma Shri Award in 1971.
Gaitonde was born in Maharashtra of Goan Parentage. He received his diploma from the Sir J. J. School of Art in 1948. Vasudeo S. Gaitonde died in 2001.

Condition: Good condition overall. Painting itself is near perfect. Slight tear on bottom left corner and the middle of the right edge. Very minor creasing along top edge.
