FROM ANTIQUITY TO THE 20TH CENTURY
Lot 18:
A translucent, subtle, turquoise green glass wine vessel originating in Ancient Rome with two handles. The rim is rounded and tapers into a narrow neck with a circular ring in the middle where the handles join. The body widens from the neck into a straight, cylindrical shape that flatens at the bottom. The handles are designed with seperation between the finger hold for ease of pouring or drinking.
Ancient Rome – 2nd-3rd century AD.
H: 8 3/8 in., (21 cm.)
Condition: Good for the age. The bottle is dirty along the exterior and interior. There are a few dents on the lower section of the bottle. See photos for reference.
