FROM ANTIQUITY TO THE 20TH CENTURY
Lot 47:
A fine 15th-century French wrought iron dome lidded casket. Clad in decorative cross-hatched straps adorned with faceted square studs alternated with bands of intricate tracery. An oval ring handle tops the lid. The base has two pins to the corners releasing spring-loaded hasps to the front.
Provenance: private collection in Pennsylvania.

Condition: In its complete and original form. Nicely patinated 15th-century strong iron box.
