With rounded corners of a rectangular form, complete with vesta and tinder compartments, the hinged lid is set with the initial "M" within a varicolored gold wreath, with a gold-set cabochon sapphire thumbpiece, possibly Fabergé. Provenance: Sotheby’s, New York, 23 October 2014, Important Silver, Vertu and Russian Works of Art, lot # 138.
