Lot 121:
A high-quality Persian bazuband decorated with engraving as well as silver and gold damascene. There is a square section of fabric and leather, with some attached chainmail rings that accompany the piece. The steel plates of the wristband are no longer attached but are still present and retain some of their chainmail. There is a large inscription along the edges of the bazuband and four seated figures at the corners of the piece.
Persia, 18th or 19th century.
L: 12.75 in. (32.39 cm.);
Condition: Engraving is mostly visible with some rust throughout. Damascene has faded or worn in spots. Overall good condition for its age.
