Ricasso is marked by the manufacturer on one side and with the Chile National Crest and Krupp Steel trademark on the other. Bayonet and scabbard serials do not match. Three carved letters on the handle have faded over time, possibly representing a form of designation.

3. A German Weyersburg, Kirschbaum & Co. of Solingen bayonet assembled by the Prussian Royal Arsenal at Erfurt. The manufacturer marked the Ricasso on one side and the Arsenal on the other. The Roman numeral "VI" (6) is on the handle, possibly representing a designation or regimental number. The blade spine bears the Royal Cypher of Kaiser Wilhelm I. The scabbard was manufactured in Austria by Steyer Arms; their mark featured on the frog stud (OE over WG).
