AUCTION 50: ANTIQUE MILITARIA, FALL 2024
Lot 236:
A nicely crafted hunting dagger from Italy. The gently curved blade is unadorned except for a stamp at the forte which appears to be a maker’s mark. The hilt is primarily of horn with an unusual meandering pattern throughout. The clamshell guard is of gilt-bronze which has been chased decoratively.
Italy, 17th/18th Century.
L: 23 3/4 in., (60.3 cm.)
Condition: Very good overall with expected signs of wear due to age. Handle is slightly loose.
