The hirschfanger features a silver plaque monogram under a royal crown mounted on a staghorn grip. The curved quillons terminate in deer hooves. The blade is single-edged with a double-edged tip. It is decorated with etching three-quarters of its length. The scabbard is made of stitched leather with steel fittings.
Germany, late 19th or early 20th century.
L: 22 1/2 in., (57 cm.)
Condition: The blade has several dark spots, the scabbard fitting is slightly rusted. All parts are tight. The blade retains some of the original etching.
