A fine French hunting dagger with gilt-bronze mounts. The quillions are cast as hunting dogs, the pommel is decorated with chased floral motifs. The blade is double-edged, and pointy with two fullers on each side. The scabbard is made of dark-brown stitched leather with gilt chased bronze mounts.
France, mid. 19th century.
L: 20 1/4 in., (51.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good overall, all parts are tight, and the blade fits the scabbard well. The leather part of the scabbard shows minor signs of wear and age.
