Lot 257:
The clip-pointed steel blade bears the maker’s mark of a sun set above the text "MAPPIN/BROTHERS/SHEFFIELD" on the left ricasso. The guard is nickel with two quillons ending in spherical pommels. The handle is of turned bone, with a pommel of decorative silver. The scabbard is tooled leather with some scuffing and wear from age.

Condition: Very good.
