Lot 261:
A bowie knife with a typical drop-point tip and engraved silver-mounted handle with filigree décor. Just above the brass cross-guard, on the ricasso, is the maker’s mark of Marks & Rees. The scabbard is tooled leather with metal fittings, and the locket has a decorative mount in the shape of an animal head.
L: 16 3/4 in., (42.5 cm.)
Condition: Steel blade is clean, with only minor scratching. Silver-mount grip is lightly worn. Scabbard has light staining on metal fixtures and lightly worn leather around them, otherwise in very good condition.
