A Spanish cup hilt rapier with pierced guard and an oval-shaped pommel chased with foliage. Body knot with detached joint arch and two long, straight, twisted quillons. Openwork and chased guard with six interlacing medallions. Complete with an inner plate following the guard. Straight blade engraved in the throat "ANTONIO RUIS".
Spain – CA. 1650.
L: 46 7/8 in., (119 cm.)
Condition: Very good overall, especially for age, with only very minor wear in places.
