Start price: $400

Estimated price: $600 - $800

Buyer's premium:

A Soviet M1927 Shashka with scabbard and tassel made at the Zlatoust Tool Plant. This is a rare export version without factory stamps on the visible surface of the blade. The single-edged blade is nearly perfect and has a wide fuller running down both sides. The brass fittings on both the handle and the scabbard are almost entirely corrosion-free; the pommel is decorated with simple etching and has a decorative leather tassel attached. The wooden grip is tight and in good condition but has some small cracks. The locket of the scabbard has indentations that appear to represent initials. The leather of the scabbard shows signs of wear but is original and has not been restored.

Soviet Union, ca. 1927.
