Indian sword with ? zoomorphic hilt, North Indian Rajput, probably Rajasthan, 19th-century. Single-edged curved blade in Damascus steel, the hilt is engraved and gilded copper handle featuring a ?????? head swallowing a fish, and the hilt is decorated with flowers. Gilded copper scabbard with engraved and openwork decoration of passing animals.

L: 27 1/2 in., (70 cm.)
Condition: Very good with expected signs of wear. An original suspension rope is attached to the scabbard, the gilding is well-preserved.
