Lot 422:
A 19th-century Turkish single-shot flintlock pistol with brass mounts. The handle is slightly curved with a round pommel with the brass mount held in place by a single nail. The mount is engraved with curved lines and a leafy vine motif. The stock is of dark brown wood with subtle carvings around the breech and along the underside of the barrel. The locking mechanism no longer functions.
Bore: 19mm
Turkey, 19th Century.
L: 17 in., (43 cm.)
Condition: Metal is rusted throughout. Wood is chipped in places and is separating from the barrel. Brass is dented and missing in places and the mount is loose. Hammer missing its screw and flint mount.
