Lot 481:
A Transcaucasian flintlock rifle of the Ottoman Empire with an exquisitely patterned Damascus steel barrel and intricately chased and molded silver barrel bands. The breech, tang, and muzzle are all overlaid with silver decoration in foliate motifs and small incised Arabic lettering. The breech also bears a cartouche with Arabic lettering near the end of the silver overlay. The gun is rifled, with an octagonal bore of approximately 15 mm. in diameter.

Condition: Very good overall. Some minor loss to barrel bands in places. Lock mechanism still functions well. Some loss to inserts on the side of the stock.
