The muzzle and the breech are both adorned with engraved depictions of cypress trees. Just ahead of the breech is a gilded cartouche set beneath another cypress tree. Also at the breech is a large rear sight in the characteristic style of a tufek, which has been decoratively engraved. The lock mechanism has been engraved throughout with foliate and floral designs and has an inscription on its underside. The stock around the breech area has been inlaid with bone and decorated with hundreds of small niello roundels. The stock is of wood with a tiger-stripe grain and is affixed to the barrel by 4 brass bands. The buttstock is wrapped with a red fabric which may be a later restoration.
