A porcelain Meissen-style gilded mantel clock decorated with figures of children and flowers. The front of the base features an inscription "On my 50th birthday to my birthday twin and a loyal comrade in teaching, 12 January 1943, A. Rosenberg" and a nazi eagle on the back of the base.

The clock was gifted by Alfred Rosenberg (1893-1946), the head of the NSDAP Office of Foreign Affairs, to Reichsmarschall Hermann Goering (1893-1946), with whom he shared a birthday.

H: 20 1/4 in., (51.4 cm.); W: 17 in., (43.2 cm.)

Condition: Good overall. An approx. 2 1/2 in. crack at front center of piece. Lower flower has some petals missing. Two feet with cracks. Small chips throughout including boy’s fingers, object that girl is holding, handle of finial vase, and some others.
