Prince Alexander Mikhailovich Dondukov-Korsakov (1820 — 1893) — Russian military and statesman, General of Cavalry, Adjutant General, participant in the conquest of the Caucasus and the Crimean War, Governor-General of the South-West Territory (1869 — 1878), commander-in-chief in the Caucasus (1882-1890). As the head of the occupation administration in Bulgaria (1878 — 1879) he stood at the origins of Bulgarian statehood.
