A lot of three bayonets with scabbard:

The first bayonet is a Châtellerault M1876 French sword bayonet. Markings on the blade spine designate the name and date of the manufacturer: Manufacture d’Armes de Châtellerault A Janvier 1876 (Châtellerault Weapons Factory On January 1876). The scabbard is iron forged. Serial markings can be seen on the scabbard and handle of the bayonet.

The second is a Civil War-era socket bayonet possibly a version designed for a .52 caliber rifle. Marking ‘CS’ on the blade designates this example as being manufactured by the Confederate States of America. The scabbard is of black leather bound material with brass plating.

The third is a Civil War-era socket bayonet possibly a version designed for the .58 caliber M1861/M1863 rifle muskets. Marking ‘US’ designates this example as being manufactured by the Union States of America. Marking ‘J’ possibly references the specific designer or manufacturer. The scabbard is a black leather bound with brass plating and a leather belt attachment.

France and the United States — 19th century.

Longest: 26 in., (66 cm.)

Condition: Very good overall. Wear and tear throughout blades and scabbards. Brass tip on #2’s scabbard is loose.
