A WW2 Imperial Japanese Naval Officer’s dirk with the typical decorations, including a menuki and gilt brass pommel depicting sakura blossoms, affixed to a handle of white shagreen wrapped in gilt wire. The scabbard is similarly decorated, with multiple sakura blossoms across its gilt brass fixtures. When the top fixture of the scabbard is removed there can be seen multiple Japanese characters.

Condition: Blade is in very good condition; it has not been resharpened or altered. Gilding to hilt and mounts well preserved. Grip without any apparent damage except one menuki missing. Twisted wire is tight. Scabbard lightly scratched.
