AUCTION 50: ANTIQUE MILITARIA, FALL 2024
Лот 319:
A Spanish ‘navaja’ folding knife with a wide blade bearing a partially obscured stamp that appears to read ‘Jerez’, the name of a town in Andalusia, which happens to be the region in which navajas were first created. The handle of this knife is decoratively set with a multitude of metal studs in the shape of suns and fleur-de-lis. There is a latch on the back of the handle which must be pulled to fold the knife.
Spain, 19th Century.
Unfolded: 10 5/8 in., (27 cm.)
Condition: Mechanism functions well. Most studs appear to be present. Blade with oxidation in places and chipping along the edge. Stamping is partially obscure.
