Beautiful sword from the Third Republic period. Triangular blade with three hollow sides, polished and acid-etched. Chased and pierced cast bronze mounting. Symmetrical openwork guard plate, quillon arched forward with grape cluster decoration. Mother-of-pearl plates to be reattached. In its leather scabbard with two bronze fittings.
France, 19th Century.
L: 35 1/2 in., (90 cm.)
Condition: Very good overall. Top brass mount on the scabbard is slightly loose.
