"Garde du Corps du Roi, " or the King’s Bodyguard, was a French royal unit that served as personal protectors of the king. These swords were often highly decorated, symbolizing both the prestige of the unit and their connection to the monarchy.

The sword features ornate designs, including the fleur-de-lis, which is a symbol of French royalty, and a crown, further indicating its royal association. Such swords were not only weapons but also status symbols, often carried by elite soldiers and officers in close proximity to the king.
