A 19th-century Victorian facsimile of a medieval sword, bearing a wooden grip set below an iron guard of two flared quillons ending in button shapes as well as two smaller upwardly curved quillons above them. The pommel is also of iron and is made in the shape of a palm. The tapering steel blade is long and slender and ends in a rounded tip.
England, 19th Century.
L: 39 5/8 in., (100.65 cm.)
Condition: Nice patina throughout. Grip and guard are slightly loose but still attached. Some nicks and pitting on the blade and guard. Wood of the handle is well preserved with some minor cracks and a small hole, possibly from a wood worm.
