Yakov Ivanovich Brovar (1864-1941), landscape with mountainous view. Oil on canvas board. Signed in Cyrillic (lower right). In a gilded frame. The reverse is inscribed with numbers 56 and 24 and with a faint inscription.
Yakov Brovar was a Russian painter who learned from M. Clodt, I. Shishkin, and A. Kuindzhi. His works were exhibited at the Moscow Society of Art Lovers, Society of Traveling Exhibitions (Peredvizhniki), Union of Artists of Saint Petersburg, Society of Artists, and many others.
Dimensions: 7 x 12 1/2 in., (18 x 32 cm.)
Condition: Four pin holes in the corners. Canvas is slightly separated from the board in the lower left corner with a small area buckling to the right. On reverse the board is yellowed, with scattered scratches.
