Provenance: the Collection of Frederick Leopold William Richardson (American, b. 1876), grandson of architect Henry Hobson Richardson (1838-1886).
Note: Jean Albert Pougny was a Russian-French artist who radically changed his artistic style several times from avant-garde, cubism, futurism and suprematism to lyrical primitivism in line with the direction in which also worked Pierre Bonnard and Edouard Vuillard.
