Lot 142:
A matte black Victorian box with floral decoration and a large central depiction of a lady on horseback leaping over a fence with her hounds in tow. The interior of the upper part of the box is lined with a pink fabric, whilst the lower part has no lining, and so exposes the wood and cardboard interior. The bottom of the box is lined with blue and white tartan paper.
Europe, 19th century.
Dimensions: 6 1/2 x 6 1/8 x 3 1/2 in., (16.5 x 15.6 x 8.9 cm.)
Condition: Exterior in good condition with some minor spotting. Clasp mechanism works well. Some wear and tear to interior lining and bottom of box.
