A fine Indian powder horn made from a large nautilus shell which has been polished to show its mother of pearl interior and is set with geometrically carved pieces of mother of pearl on the entire surface of the top section. The horn has a spout at top from which to pour gunpowder and a brass ring with a chain and a green felt loop at the side from which to hang the object from a belt.
India, 19th Century.
Dimensions: L: 7 1/2 in., (19 cm.); W: 6 1/2 in., (16.5 cm.)
Condition: Some pieces chipped or missing in places. A small hole on front bottom of shell. Otherwise in good condition.
