Lot 55:
A pair of gilt-bronze figures depicting early 17th-century style chevaliers in ostentatious clothing, armed with swords. The sword of one figure can be removed from his left arm and is inscribed on the reverse of the guard with the letters ‘D D’. The base of both figures is signed ‘A. Claude’.
France, 19th century.
Dimensions: H: 9 1/2 in., (24.1 cm.)
Condition: Very good overall with some minor oxidation in places. Gilt-finish mostly intact.
