A Viennese cold-painted bronze lamp depicting a seated Egyptian merchant selling pottery and Ancient Egyptian statues. The post for the lamp is designed to appear as various timbers and reeds lashed together, from which is hung the shade which appears as a lantern with various stained-glass panes. The bottom of the piece is marked ‘Austria’.
Vienna, Austria, Early 20th century.
Dimensions: H: 13 3/8 in., (34 cm.)
Condition: Good overall with a nice patina and some fading to paint in places. Cable appears to have been intentionally detached in the past.
