Lot 66:
A fine recreation in bronze of Michelangelo’s famous sculpture of Moses, produced by the prolific French foundry operator Ferdinand Barbedienne. The piece is signed by Barbedienne on the lower right side, and is set with a medallion reading "Reduction Mecanique, A. Collas". Achille Collas had created a special device that aided in the copying of sculptures into a smaller form. He and Barbedienne formed a company to produce smaller versions of famous sculptures using this new device, this example being one of them.

Condition: Very good overall, clean, with a nice patina.
