A fine Chinese inkwell set on a silver-framed, red lacquer tray with relief decoration, surmounted by a large porcelain figure of a lion with its paws on a red ball, within which is a holder for a candle. There are two inkwells attached to the tray, both of porcelain and mounted with chased silver.
China, 19th Century.
Dimensions: 15 5/8 x 9 5/8 x 6 in., (39.7 x 24.4 x 15.2 cm.)
Condition: Expected signs of wear from age and use. One lid detached from hinge.
