Lot 81:
An Indo-Persian steel box with a pleasant, stepped shape and decorated across its entire surface with gold damascene in intricate floral shapes. The latch can be opened by pressing a button on the front which is chased to look like a flower. The inside of the box is lined with padded red velveteen.
Indo-Persia, 19th century.
Dimensions: 8 7/8 x 6 1/8 x 3 3/4 in., (22.5 x 15.6 x 9.5 cm.)
Condition: Exterior in good condition with some minor signs of wear along opening and some oxidation across various parts of surface. Interior lining with some wear due to age and use, one panel slightly loose.
