A beautiful belle epoque box topped with an extremely fine biscuit porcelain sculpture of a lion and snake in combat, created by the famed porcelain company ‘Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres’, with the underside of the lid having a mirror. The box itself has an external lining of red velveteen set with gilt-metal floral and shell plaques throughout and a large, embroidered wreath of flowers at the front center. The whole box is decorated with gilt trim and is lined internally with bright green and gilt paper.

Dimensions: 7 x 4 3/4 x 7 1/4 in., (17.8 x 12.1 x 18.4 cm.)

Condition: Very good condition overall. Expected fading and wear to embroidery due to age, plus some spots in places. Very minor crack on the front right leg of the lion. Some wear to metal fixtures along box.
