Bhupen Khakhar, an oil on canvas painting depicting nude male figures by the sea. Signed on lower right corner and additionally signed on the verso.
Bhupen Khakhar, or Khakkar (1934-2003) was an Indian painter and a member of the Baroda Group, an association of experimental artists formed in 1957 under the guidance of N. S. Bendre. Khakhar gained international recognition and was often referred to as "India’s first ‘Pop’ artist". His works are in the collections of many museums around the world, including the British Museum, The Tate Gallery, London, The Museum of Modern Art, New York.

Condition: Canvas shows some age but is in good condition overall. No visible signs of damage or restoration. Canvas currently removed from stretcher, appears to have been stretched twice due to both staple and nail marks.
