Boris Smirnov (Russian, Soviet, 1903 – 1986), design for the cover of the book "Theater Cinema Circus." Colors and pencil on paper. Circa 1920s.
Note: Smirnov Boris Aleksandrovich (1903-1986) studied at the Petrograd State Agricultural Museum, then at the Academy of Arts until 1927. In 1925 he worked in the workshop of N. A. Tyrsa. From 1929 he designed public and entertainment buildings. He worked at Detgiz. He taught at the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, the All-Russian Academy of Art, and the Leningrad Higher Art School named after V. I. Mukhina. His personal exhibitions were held in Leningrad in 1973 and 1985.
