A nicely shaped letter opener with a detailed pierced and carved owl motif at its top surrounded by twisting branches, the front and back showing the two sides of the bird. The eyes are set with polished yellow stones to mimic the glowing of the owl’s eyes. The piece is kept within a silk lined box stamped with the logo of the House of Faberge as it appeared from 1895-1918.
