An important Persian engraved and gilt steel plate. The engraved figures depicted in the cartouche are the King on the top and merchants bringing sacks of wheat to the court. The plate is signed in Farsi above the King’s head and beneath the seated figure on the left of the King.

The plate is exquisitely engraved. The original gold inlay is almost entirely preserved.
